Pinterest is amazing for ideas when it comes to art lessons.
It was in fact my starting point for my lesson on Picasso. After giving the children a brief introduction into Picasso and Cubism I then asked then to roll a dice in order to decide what their Picasso portrait should look like. Each number corresponded to a different nose, mouth, eye, ear etc.
It meant that all their portraits were totally bonkers and totally unique which caused a few giggles in the classroom. I then allowed the children 3 items of there own design. They chose hair, moustaches, hats and so on.
Teamed with a lovely bright colour palette and a few little extras such as pom poms and feathers they had some fantastic results.
Here is a selection my Year 4's amazing work!!
